A cluttered desk is a cluttered mind. Ditto for Macs with cluttered Desktops. How do you clean a cluttered Desktop, packed with icons of files, folders, photos, documents, and everything you collect during the course of the day?
One way is make a new folder and then drag and drop all the Desktop files onto the folder. Ta da! Clean Desktop. That’s merely the digital method of dragging everything from your desk and moving it into a copier paper box. The stuff didn’t go away but the desktop is clean.
Or, you can run Desktop Ghost on your Mac. This almost free Mac utility gives you a one-click way to hided all the mess and clutter– files and folders, including their respective icons– just disappear.
Why bother? Trust me, a clean Desktop on your Mac will make you feel better. It’s also a good way to take screenshots without viewing the clutter that’s usually on the Desktop. Desktop Ghost has a few extra features, too, but not many.
Click the Menubar icon to hide or show the Desktop icons. Or, run Desktop Ghost as an app and click the buttons to do the same thing.
Other than an option to load Desktop Ghost when you start your Mac, that’s it. One click. Clean Desktop. Well, actually, it’s not so much clean as it is merely hidden. But, either way, they look the same.
