Way back in the day, long before OS X revived the Mac’s fortunes, classic Mac OS had a customizable navigation menu in the Menubar that’s not on modern Macs. aLaunch brings a little of those classic days of yesteryear back to OS X with a free one-click app launcher.
Instead of navigating through the Applications folder in the Finder, or traversing back and forth through a crowded Dock of app icons, one click to the Menubar gets you quick access to your most frequently used apps, folders and files.
App icons in the Menubar dropdown menus can be displayed small to large– from 16 pixels to 64 pixels. Folders and files can be setup in aLaunch, too, and selecting one will open it in the Finder.
Also handy is the option to organize the apps, folders, and files in groups and separators. aLaunch is a very handy launcher, and while it’s not quite the same as the original Apple Menubar launcher of the last century, it’s very good, easy to setup and use, and priced perfectly as donationware.
