When it comes to online shopping we all have a few things in common. Waiting for the package. Most major delivery services provide a tracking number so we can track the package’s progress online. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an app for your Mac that did the tracking for you?
There is. It’s a free Dashboard Widget called Delivery Status. Here’s how it works best for me. I setup Delivery Status in the Dashboard Widget area, and assign a corner hotkey so a quick flick of the Mac’s onscreen pointer to the hotspot brings up the Widgets.
Once you have a tracking number for a package, enter that into the appropriate delivery service in Delivery Status. The tracking is handled automatically.
As the package moves across the country Delivery Status keeps you updated. It also works with OS X’s Notification Center and Growl, and it syncs up your package status with the iPhone and iPad version of Delivery Status.
Now, the big question is, ‘What delivery services are available in Delivery Status?‘ It’s a lengthy list and includes every major delivery carrier in the U.S., Adobe, Amazon, Apple, DHL, FedEx, UPS, USPS, and many, many others (including many carriers in other countries).
What’s not to like with a donationware Widget that tracks your package deliveries? It’s the best.
