Backing up files and folders on your Mac is akin to the best camera. What’s the best camera to use? The one you have with you when you need to take a photo. Likewise, we Mac users have plenty of backup apps from which to choose, but sometimes simple and inexpensive does the job just fine.
The cleverly named Mac backup app Backup keeps backups simple. All it does is copy individual files or folders of folders and files from one location on your Mac to another location.
Backup uses the backup standard jargon of From and To (also known as Source and Target). Select a folder of files you want to backup. Then, select where to back them up. Then, click the Backup button.
Backup is a good choice for Mac users who need to make copies of files and folders of files as a backup. It’s simple to setup and use, and the features are limited to those you need most, including an option to schedule a backup to run unattended (and, yes, your Mac needs to be running). Or, you can backup any selected files manually with a single click.
