As deep as we are in the digital age I’m still surprised at the number of times a signature is needed on a document. All too often that requires a fax, usually back and forth. Enter Signature Maker for the Mac. It’s your next step into the digital age and paperless office.
Creating a good digital signature can be a royal pain which requires a scanner, a graphics app, and someone with enough know-how to put all the pieces together. Signature Maker puts the pieces together onscreen, no scanner required.
It’s rather simple, actually. Open Signature Maker. Use the mouse or trackpad to create your signature. Edit as needed. Save.
Apple’s Magic Trackpad or the MacBook’s trackpad seems to work better at creating a true-to-life signature than the mouse, but your mileage may vary.
The signature you save comes with a number of options, including a PNG image with a transparent background so the signature can be dropped onto a document without obscuring what’s behind the signature.
The signature itself can have different line color, different background color and thicker line weight.
Use it judiciously and with some oversight, but Signature Maker can save multiple signatures to handle a business with many employees. It’s just much easier and faster to use a digital signature than a bunch of documents faxed back and forth.
