Slowly but surely Apple has marginalized Microsoft’s Office suite for the Mac. Apple’s iWork apps– Pages, Numbers, Keynote– are capable replacements for most of us who don’t rely on Office. If you’re still among the large number of Mac users stuck on Word, here’s a quick and inexpensive way to improve your writing productivity and capability with a package of royalty free Word templates in the Templates For MS Word Mix package.
Templates? These are Word documents with brochures, business cards, calendars, invitations, cards, envelopes, flyers, letters, newsletters, reports and forms– already designed and packaged and ready for immediate use in Word.
Here’s an assortment.
Here’s a close up of a template and how it looks in Word.
I’ve always been impressed with the value in these template packages. The amount of time they save and the variety is quite remarkable considering the nominal price tag.
Here’s another sample.
Templates can be used as is. Simply change the text to match your needs. All the graphic and text objects in a template can be moved, resized, edited, or deleted as needs.
Most of the templates are available in popular A4 and US letter sizes (other than envelopes and business cards, of course). My informal count came up with 10 different categories, 60 different templates, and almost 150 different layouts.
Using a template is simple enough on a Mac. Just double-click to open in Microsoft Word, or select and right-click to select Open With… Microsoft Word. Be careful to save your edited templates with a different name to avoid overwriting the original.
