When it comes to naming an app I prefer those that are descriptive, those that are clever, or those that are memorable. Apple may do it best. Mail is email. Contacts are address book. Calendar is the calendar app.
Others are descriptive but obvious. iTunes. iPhoto. iMovie. Even Garageband evokes the minimalist digital recording studio with humble roots.
So, what does the app Calculator Tab+ evoke? A calculator that’s called from the Mac’s Menubar? Probably not, but that’s what it is. One click to the Menubar and the calculator pops up (no hunting through the Application folder for Apple’s calculator app).
Calculator Tab+’s basic mode is similar to what you find with Apple’s Calculator app. Likewise, the Advanced mode displays scientific options.
Options include a hotkey combo to bring Calculator Tab+ to the front, keep the calculator visible but in the background, adjust opacity, and change decimal numbers.
As calculators go, this one isn’t special other than the ability to pop it open with a click or keystroke combo.
