When I was a young child in school I wanted to play a musical instrument and be in a band. After trying out for band, the music instructor asked me if I liked art. No band for me. Art it was. Unfortunately, to become the comic strip artist I dreamed of also required some artistic ability. For me, artistic talent was in the same supply as my music talent.
If only I’d had a Mac and Comic Life when I was younger. Maybe my world would have been much different.
I coulda’ been a contender. Instead of a bum, which is what I am – let’s face it…
Regardless, if you’ve ever entertained a thought about how to create a comic strip, Comic Life is the app to use to get started. You won’t need to be artistic at all. The app contains all the tools you need to design the strip that dreams are made of.
Pretty much everything you need is already built in. Text balloons. Backgrounds. Shapes. Comic fonts. Even layouts for different sized comic strips or books or brochures or flyers or promotions are included.
Use Comic Life to drop in photos from iPhoto as your characters. You won’t even need to draw a character. Comic Life’s tool palettes can enhance photos and give them that comic book look.
All you need to add is a story line.
What if you find out that creating a comic strip is actually hard work? Comic Life doubles as a great way to make custom posters, billboards, flyers, invitations. The built-in templates make it easy to start.
Completed work, whether a comic strip or poster, can be uploaded to Facebook, printed out, or saved as an image to share. Don’t let your dreams of fame and fortune die on the vine. All you need is your Mac and the right app.
