There’s a strange juxtaposition between those of us with a few geek genes and childhood toys. Today’s Mac and PC games are high powered graphic dynamos with many layers of shoot ’em up action, all of which pale in significance to the memories of childhood toys.
Take a few minutes to relive those glory days of yesteryear with the Rail Maze app for the Mac. It’s free and comes with over 100 unique and challenging puzzles where you can build railroads, blow up obstacles, escape from pirates (yes, they’re on rails, too), and just have a healthy dose of plain old fun without spilling blood and guts or reloading a weapon.
Rail Maze has at least 100 different puzzles to solve, plus the appropriately styled tunnels, long trains, multiple modes, and, every guy’s favorite– bombs.
The four game modes are Labyrinth, which is a puzzle. Build Railroad and Snake, both of which are action. And, my favorite, Longest Railroad which is both puzzle and action.
And, yes, every good game needs an antagonist and Rail Maze gives you… drum roll, please… Pirates. The first few levels are easy, but become complicated soon enough. Rail Maze is free but comes with advertising to help pay the freight. Getting rid of the ads and adding more modes comes with price tags.
