With an icon of two ruby red slippers, and a the name Toto, what do you suppose this clever and inexpensive Mac app actually does? If you guessed a free trip on a hot air balloon to Kansas you’d be wrong.
Toto is a todo app that works on both Mac and iPhone (synchronizing the todo list between devices). Click Toto in the Menubar (ouch), add a todo item, and it gets synced up nice and tidy with Toto Touch for the iPhone.
Toto is fast, easy to setup and use, and works well for simple tasks, or simple projects (made up of tasks). Select the ruby red slippers in the Menubar. Click Add for a new todo item, or Add Group for a new project or group of tasks.
That’s pretty much all you need to know. You won’t be blown away by additional bells and whistles because Toto, the todo list app, doesn’t have any.
One click is required to clear all finished tasks. Toto also tells you how many tasks remain unfinished in each group, but there are no priorities to worry about, no due dates to set, no alarms to bug you about what you haven’t done yet.
What’s the advantage of yet another todo list manager that does less?
Maybe that’s the beauty of Toto. Other than the ruby red slippers and affinity to Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, and her dog, Toto. It’s simple. It’s always there to remind you but not annoy you, and you won’t waste time figuring out how to use the bells and whistles because, well, no bells, and no whistles.
Toto, the todo list app, is cute and useful, not at all unlike Toto the dog and Dorothy’s ruby red slippers.
