If there’s a general trend among the Mac, iPhone, and iPad customers it’s too much concern about time. Reminders reminds us of what needs to get done. Calendar alerts and alarms pop up on all our Apple devices.
Also popular are countdown apps. Think of them as floating stop watches in reverse. They countdown to an event or reminder with a specific date or time. Many of these useful apps work much the way Active Countdown works on the Mac.
Setup an event in the future– minutes, hours, or days– and Active Countdown counts down to the event and displays the number of minutes, hours, or days left before the event. The countdown alarm floats on your Mac’s screen while you work.
You can place Active Countdown multiple times on the Mac’s screen, and use different colored themes to differentiate the countdowns.
Setting up a countdown is equally straightforward. Set the time and date. Set the alarm sound. And, you’re done.
What would be perfect is an option to receive a text message or an email, and though the price tag is less than $2, having a version that syncs with iPad and iPhone would be a huge plus. We’re mobile and our reminders should be mobile, too.
