Apple has a design mantra that is on display in OS X. Folders are all the same color. Folder icons are simple embossed logos within the folder. It’s clean, elegant, functional, and typical Apple. What if you want customized folder designs? There’s an easy way.
The Folder Factory app is incredibly inexpensive and highly versatile and makes short order of custom folder designs.
Use the built-in tools to change the folder’s color, drop in a graphic design, or add text in the fonts of your choice.
Use the slider tools to change a folder color. For a graphic image, adjust the size, change color intensity and opacity, and place on the folder.
Click on the text tool to drop in text, changes the font and color and size, center, and adjust opacity.
As you make changes to the photo they’re revealed in real-time. Apply changes by clicking the Apple Changes button.
It’s actually fun to create custom folders but it’s also easy to get carried away and end up with a dozen differently designed Franken-folders.
