Everyone who uses email has this problem. You receive an email message from someone and the contents have been forwarded to recipients around the internet, and each forwarded message adds long vertical lines to the content of the forwarded message. Each time the message is forwarded.
How can you fix it? FixIt.
This free Mac app strips out those annoying lines and arrows to leave the email’s content clean and neat.
Here’s what those forwarded messages look like before fixed by FixIt.
That looks familiar, right?
To rid the message of those ugly vertical lines, simply copy and paste the text into FixIt.
Click the Simple button and the arrow > characters are removed. Click the Complex button and additional characters, such as those vertical lines, are removed.
This really should be a function built-in to Apple’s Mail.
FixIt is simple, easy, fast, free, and takes care of a very annoying problem that almost everyone with email has.
