This is subject to argument, but I consider one of the most valuable classes I took in school was typing. Thanks to the Mac I’ve improved my typing skills steadily through the years.
There’s always room for improvement.
I wanted to see how my typing skills compared to others and began a search for a typing tutor and measuring app. Enter Type Fu, a free typing tutor from the Mac App Store.
Type Fu doesn’t disappoint. It features an on-screen keyboard and fingers so you can see where you need to type.
Included are speed, accuracy, and time meters, plus audio notifications.
Choose from a variety of typing lessons, including letters, numbers, quotes, and proverbs. Letters, numbers and popular words have multiple difficult levels.
The performance charts are displayed over a period of time and over a number of completed exercises, so you can see at a glance how much you’ve improved your typing skills (or not).
Also included are support for a variety of keyboards; Qwerty, Qwertz, Azert, Dvorak and others.
Not bad for free.
