“NoodleMac is home of the 9 Word Reviews for Mac software. Not too much, not too little.”
Poor name, weak official description of an indispensable Mac utility. One of our ‘must haves’ for years. Elegant solution to renaming multiple files. Lots of multiple files. Many features. Needs to rename itself.
A Better Finder Rename allows users to quickly rename multiple files. This powerful, yet easy-to-use utility transforms the often tedious and time-consuming task of renaming multiple files into a simple matter of seconds.
9WR - A Better Finder Rename: Context menu utility renames multiple files with few clicks.
Our favorite information manager. Highly intuitive and easier to use than Yojimbo. Love the shelf. Organize files however you like. Holds almost everything. Now with auto tagging, nested groups, editing.
Together lets you keep everything in one place. Text, documents, images, movies, sounds, web pages and bookmarks can all be dragged to Together for safe keeping, tagged, previewed, collected together in different ways and found again instantly.
9WR - Together: Personal information organizer, stores text, documents, images, movies, whatever.
One of my favorite always on utilities. Default Folder adds tools to the Open and Save dialog boxes in OS X, and remembers where to save files based on which application is used at the time.
Default Folder X attaches a toolbar to the right side of the Open and Save dialogs in any OS X-native application. The toolbar gives you fast access to various folders and commands. You just click on the buttons to go to your favorite and recently used folders, manage the folders and files shown in the list, and make changes to your settings.
9WR - Default Folder X: Adds tools and remembers which folder to save files based on application.
Professional level application to create moving slide shows—movies from digital photos. Easy to use interface, intuitive controls. Pan and zoom across photos, add titles, export to QuickTime movies for use in iMovie.
Photo to Movie enables you to create a movie by zooming and panning over a photo. It presents a simple interface to specify the starting and ending frames and generates full quality QuickTime or DV Stream files (compatible with iMovie).
9WR - Photo to Movie: Makes moving slide show movies from still digital photos.
Use Chax to add a bunch of cool features to Apple’s iChat that Apple chose not to give you. Growl notification, activity log, auto-accept file transfers, AV chats, and screen sharing, and more.
Chax is a collection of minor modifications and additions that make using Apple’s iChat more enjoyable.
9WR - Chax: iChat add-on features—unified contacts, Growl notices, log viewer.
Clean, fast, uncluttered text editor for HTML, PHP, Javascript. Features live preview, code snippets, W3C validation, code evaluator, custom syntax highlighting. Well done, affordable.
HyperEdit breaks the tedious cycle of writing html, saving the file, then reloading and viewing the page in the browser by combining the writing phase with the viewing phase.
9WR - HyperEdit: Lightweight HTML, PHP, Javascript editor, live preview, validation, snippets.
The latest Pro and standard versions (beta) of the premier diagramming and design application for the Mac. Many tools to create and modify diagrams, export to different formats. Pro version has Vizio support.
OmniGraffle Pro helps you draw beautiful diagrams, family trees, flow charts, org charts, layouts, and (mathematically speaking) any other directed or non-directed graphs, to organize your thoughts, your projects, or even your friends graphically using boxes and lines.
9WR - OmniGraffle: Top Mac diagramming app, styles, tools, exports, Vizio support.
