Why is there not a universal login ID and password? I have dozens of passwords, each with different login IDs. There’s a few dozen web sites to login in to, multiple email accounts to manage, web mail, Yahoo!, Google, sites with forums, not to mention banks and credit card sites. Who can remember all those login ID’s and passwords? I don’t have to. I learned to manage them all in 3 minutes. Here’s how…

I can’t speak for Kate, though I think she uses SecretBook. I use Steel and swear by it. A great utility.
We plan to do a whole article on password and serial number managers

The only thing I really want in 1Password is the ability to log in to a site without having to select which account. Safari pre-fills login and password so all you do to log in is hit the Enter key. With 1Password, there is no auto fill-- you have to select it from the plugin menu. It works, but it’s extra work. Otherwise, wonderful.

Total agreement from me. 1Password is truly indispensable with so many web sites to log in to these days. I’ve got about 50 or so, from forums to banks, and 1Password makes it nearly automatic. Nearly. I want ‘auto login’ in Safari. I always have to grab the Restore menu selection. ‘Auto’ would be a nice enhancement.

Best. Password. Manager.
Drop dead simple, highly secure, works well in the basic browsers I use. Easy to edit info for each site which is an improvement over Keychain which seems to capture every login attempt, multiple times for the same one. I love the back ups of Keychain.
