One of my long standing complaints with Apple is their support information. It’s difficult to find support topics, get support, and check on the latest support issues. That’s a problem inherent in any company that has many products and many tens of millions of customers.
Imagine my delight when I found a Dashboard Widget that checks Apple’s Support Communities for me.
It’s cleverly titled Apple Support Communities. The Widget makes it easy to find new articles from Apple from one location. Your Mac’s Dashboard.
The Widget works great. The latest articles default to the top, but simply click on the New Articles pull down and get support articles from any of Apple’s products.
There’s no easier, faster, less expensive way to check Apple’s support articles. In general, most recent, search, or by product category. It’s all there and a click away.
And, Apple Support Communities for Mac Dashboard Widget (it really needs a different name) is free.
The only negative has to do with the size of the Widget. It’s acceptable on a larger screen iMac or Apple Cinema Display, but takes up too much screen real estate on a Mac notebook. Having an option to drag and resize the Widget would be a big plus.
